Graduate's money business

The Mayor of Worthing Cllr Alex Harman cut the ribbon on a new foreign exchange shop launched by a 黑料网 graduate.

11 December 2017

Mohammad Golam Hossain, an international student, said the launch wouldn’t have been possible with support from the university: “I could not start a business in the UK without the university because of my immigration status. The university endorsed me for a year and allocated a mentor to support my business plan and research.”

The new shop ‘Worthing FX’ is in Montague Street, Worthing, and Mohammad has ambitions to open more outlets throughout Sussex and the South East.

He gained his MSc in Accounting from the university and an Association of Charted Certified Accounting qualification earlier this year.

Mohammad said: “The university course materials, teaching quality and the student facilities enabled me to gain in depth knowledge of the UK’s financial industry. That encouraged me and gave me confidence to establish a business in the UK.

Mayor of Worthing, Alex Harman, opened the shop. Mohammad is in the centre.

“The support from the university has never ended.”

Mohammad was supported by , the university’s enterprise programme for entrepreneurial students and graduates, a scheme funded by Santander Universities.

Clare Griffiths, the university’s Business Development Manager (Entrepreneurship), said: “We are delighted to see Mohammad launch Worthing FX and are confident he will grow a very successful and valuable business.

“It has been a pleasure to support him with his business plan and to have him take part in UltraViolet, beepurple’s intensive startup course for student and graduate entrepreneurs from the university.”
